Hoopes ‘06 Estate Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
This is a new vineyard to me, Hoopes in Oakville, California. A grower, making wine under their own label since 2000. Drank their ‘06 Estate Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. Cult cab you got to love–bold, fruit forward, oozing in minerality and high alcohol content. Oh so pricey but worth it if you crave the big and bold. If you live in TriBeCa, a can’t miss pairing is meatballs, eggplant parmigiano and Caprese salad from Max’s on Duane Street to go with this.
