First time to Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum today (http://www.cooperhewitt.org/visit/).
Remarkable old mansion on upper 5th with detailed and articulate glimpses into the global design world. My kinda place.
Photo is of actual Prosolve 370E tiles. These are a mass produced photocatalytic tile system to purify the air in polluted urban spaces. Startling juxtaposition when hung in the stairwell of a century+ old mansion with wooden banisters, dark sideboards and an antique chandelier.
I really liked it…a natural urban sculpture. Ultra modern. And industrial art to better our lives through design and scientific utility. Really cool stuff.
