At my brother’s house for dinner, I’m pairing wine with people rather than wine with food. It’s boring to match wine with Turkey, more fun to grab great wine from different parts of the world, diverse varietals and unique wine making methods and talk and sip and enjoy. I plan on orchestrating the afternoon and having a great time. With the list below I simply can’t go wrong.

In pouring order:

1. Copain ’07 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

2. Matthieu Barret ’07 Brise Cailloux (Rhone Vin Naturel Syrah)

3. Azienda Agricola ’06 Pithos Cos Cerasuola di Vittoria (Nero D’Avola Blend)  A Nero D’Avola/Frappato blend from the South Eastern coast of Sicily. I’m experimenting on the family but this vineyard is a gem. They fermented this wine in buried clay casks pulling an obscure method from the Greek winemakers. Can’t wait and the review is forthcoming. Info on another vintage from this vineyard.
