Great! I've yet to begin linking to other sites, but plan to soon. My partner in New Spain Wines is just arriving in DC to present a DO Campo de Borja tasting… don't know if you heard about it. Think it's at Ruths Chris, Crystal City… you should go if you can get in, its tomorrow (thurs). I'm really not sure who has done the inviting, but I know there are some great Garnachas in the tasting! Yum. Let's keep in touch.

Thanks for the info. Writing and tasting from NYC, it is sometimes difficult to get complete info on these small producers. Most appreciated!

Manchuela is sort of North East of DO La Mancha, not too far from the city of Cuenca. Juan Antonio makes a full line of Bobals… some really nice high end wines as well as 'La Casilla'. Some of the main factors that were not mentioned in this wonderful article are the fact that these old vines are pruned very differently from the rest of the Bobal grown in Spain, dictating a low yield, as well as the fact that the vines are dry farmed (no irrigation). So, along with the above mentioned old vines, a biodynamic approach, and natural yeasts, Juan Antonio is coming up with the best Bobal in Spain… in my opinion anyways, and we do a lot of tasting around here. It's about time that one of Spain's most planted grapes is able to show it's quality, if treated appropriately!
