I'm envious of your trip. It's a dream of mine to visit and a hobby, of sorts, to tell the world about the incredible wines and history of this place.

Nice write-up and image, Arnold. We were fortunate enough to spend a week (my wife and daughters) in Ribeira Sacra this summer. The views are incredible.

We brought home with us one of the only Albariños made in this Region. Abadía da Cova. http://bit.ly/95EOsx

The label has the famous picturesque view in b & w and the wine was wonderful. I am sure it is available the States with the amount of accolades they have had.

I'm pleased you're talking about the wines of Ribeira Sacra. It is an incredible area to produce great, elegant fresh wines. It is really one of the most beautiful vineyard of the world. And it's not an exaggeration. Two expressions are used there: "heroic viticulture" and "wine of the sky" to translate this impossibly steep, rocky vineyards. You can try also the wines from Algueira, from Guimaro, from Dominio do Bibei, from Alodio, ... and of course from Ponte da Boga, http://www.pontedaboga.es , the winery for which I am the consultant.
