I'm fascinated by this concept because it brings development, customer discovery, release and marketing into the sames cycles. That's the powerful part of it to me as a market maker and business person.

Great post, and I agree the implicit transience of “beta” is the key to product development. My only (small) quibble is on the concept of platform. I would draw a thick line between open and closed ones. A closed one can always move the goalposts on you.

10/10 Arnold, this post echoes my own thoughts on design and development theory. So many great ideas, woven together just right. Thanks Arnold for expression these concepts in a succinct and brilliant manner.

I'd like to see this trend of constant beta enter into all areas of our society, and I suspect it will.
